In 1966, BAIC developed the van BJ130, and in 1975 became the largest producer of vans.
In 1984, BAIC established the first automotive Joint Venture of China, creating Beijing Jeep Corporation.
In 1996, BAIC FOTON was established and in the recent years it has become the bestselling brand of commercial vehicle in China.
In 2002, BAIC and Hyundai established the Joint Venture Beijing Hyundai. After an experience of 13 years of development, Beijing Hyundai has achieved a system of product and market worth millions.
In 2003, Beijing Benz (BBDC) was established after BAIC reached a strategic cooperation with Daimler.
In December 2009, BAIC acquired the intellectual property rights from SAAB, including engine, gearbox, vehicle platform and others.
In 2015, BAIC Group ascended for three consecutive years into the Fortune Global 500, at position 207.
